I am looking for information about Mary Hoyt Stoddard Best and her ancestors and descendants. She was a cousin of my mother's from Carlinville. My mother's handwritten family tree was sketchy and gave no exact information about Mary's parents or even Mary, whom she referred to as "Mary Hoyt Stoddard." I found only a Social Security Death Index listing for Mary H. Best and a reference to an obituary I haven't been able to obtain, carried in the Springfield, IL State Journal-Register May 14, 1996. Any information about the Hoyt and Stoddard connections, plus Mary, would be much appreciated. I'm going back to Illinois to research family in 2005 and hope to find gravestones, former homes, etc.
