Unknown Picture - possibly Struthers - Macoupin County IL
Possibly Struthers Family
From Dina Struthers-Stultz great-granddaughter of James Struthers,
"I found this photo at my father Doug Struthers’s house of
what may be my grandpa (his father) John Struthers of Gillespie and
John’s older brother James Struthers, Jr. around 1905. Nothing is
written on the back to indicate who these boys are so it’s simply a
guess. The brothers emigrated from Scotland to America in 1905
with their parents James Struthers Sr. and Jessie so this could be the
last picture they took before they left Scotland or when they first
arrived. I realize nobody can say for sure who they are but
the outfits are pretty cool to see."
If it is John and James Struthers, "In the 1910 census, they lived at
9496 Easton Heights. In the 1920 census (taken in January 1920) they
lived at 118 Easton Heights (possibly same house, different
numbers?). I found the deed, #309, where they bought the Abba
Street house for $1.00 from Johanna Hopper in Sept. 1920."
