Jonathan Rice MILES

Jonathan Rice MILES (1817-1903) was the founder of Miles
Station, Brighton Township, Macoupin County. He was the brother of my 2g-grandfather
Francis Marion MILES. Jonathan and Francis came to IL about 1833 with their
father Alexander MILES, mother Mary (Irvin) MILES and family. J.R. MILES
was a Colonel in the Civil War. The picture was scanned from the book,
History of Macoupin County (1879).
